MCQ Lab is the creation of three Doctors that recognised an unmet need for professionals to create their own multiple-choice question sites with ease.
Mr Tristan Boam

Tristan is a UK-based Paediatric Surgeon.
"Our final professional exams are extremely difficult and I had noticed a lack of resources where candidates can test their own knowledge and practice questions. I have a PG Cert in Medical Education and extensive experience in training resident doctors, and so I was aware that self-testing with practice MCQs is one of the most powerful tools for learning and exam success.
I had been friends with Dale since medical school and we realised we were like-minded in wanting to start our own MCQ sites to help our colleagues. We partnered with Jonti whose tireless work brought MCQ Lab to life.
My own site, mcq.encyclopaediatricsurgery.com is now helping Paediatric Surgery Trainees all over the world."

Jonti is a practicing NHS GP in Manchester and a Clinical Engineer.

Dale is a UK-based Emergency Medicine Doctor with a background in medical and training education policy as well as digital innovation and health data ethics.
“Our final professional exams are among the most demanding in medicine. Through my own preparation, I recognised how powerful structured self-testing with high-quality Single Best Answer questions can be for building depth of understanding and exam confidence.
I went to medical school with Tristan and we have long shared a drive to improve exam resources for our colleagues. Together with Jonti, whose passion for technology, AI and ethics strengthens our approach, we co-created MCQ Lab as a platform to deliver carefully researched questions with clear explanations and strong links to evidence.
My own platform, frcemsba.com, supports Emergency Medicine trainees preparing for the FRCEM exams and reflects the same philosophy: rigorous content, transparent reasoning, and intelligent self-testing.
